Course Id: CMS/Q0001.
Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent.
Objective: The Certified Marine Surveyor course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to perform thorough inspections and assessments of ships, offshore structures, and marine cargo. The course covers survey types such as pre-purchase, condition, damage, and insurance surveys. Participants will learn to evaluate vessel hull integrity, machinery, safety equipment, and compliance with international regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, IMO).
Duration: Three Month.
How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:
Step 1: Choose the course you wish to get certified in.
Step 2: Click on the “Enroll Now” button.
Step 3: Proceed with the enrollment process.
Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.
Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:
Debit/Credit Card, Wallet, Paytm, Net Banking, UPI, or Google Pay.
Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.
Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.
Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.
Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

Duration- 60 minutes.
No. of Questions- 30. (Multiple Choice Questions).
Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.

Module 1: Introduction to Marine Surveying and Industry Overview: Overview of marine surveying and its significance, Roles and responsibilities of a Marine Surveyor, Types of marine surveys: condition, damage, pre-purchase, cargo, regulatory, Maritime industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies, International conventions and standards (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL), Survey terminology and documentation basics.
Module 2: Vessel Construction and Classification: Ship types and structural components, Classification societies and their roles, Construction materials and methods, Ship stability and hydrostatics principles, Surveying new builds and repairs, Understanding ship plans and drawings.
Module 3: Inspection and Survey Techniques: Visual inspection methods and tools, Non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, Hull, machinery, and equipment surveys, Cargo condition and stowage surveys, Use of technology: drones, ultrasonic testing, and remote sensing, Reporting and documentation procedures.
Module 4: Marine Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Safety equipment inspection and certification, Compliance with safety and environmental regulations, ISM Code and safety management systems, Pollution prevention and control measures, Incident investigation and reporting, Auditing and quality assurance processes.
Module 5: Cargo Survey and Damage Assessment: Types of cargo and handling requirements, Surveying cargo loading and unloading operations, Damage assessment and claims investigation, Hazardous materials and dangerous goods surveys, Marine insurance principles and documentation, Coordinating with stakeholders during claims.
Module 6: Professional Practice and Ethics: Survey report writing and presentation skills, Communication and negotiation with clients and authorities, Legal aspects and liabilities of marine surveying, Ethics and professional conduct, Continuing education and certification requirements, Capstone project: conduct a full vessel survey and prepare a comprehensive survey report.
