Module 3: Fire Protection Materials and Coatings: Types of fire-resistant materials (gypsum, concrete, mineral wool, etc.), Intumescent and ablative coatings for steel structures, Fireproofing methods (sprayed, board, encasement systems), Testing standards for fire-resistive materials (ASTM E119, BS 476), Application procedures and thickness verification, Inspection and maintenance of protective materials.
Module 4: Structural Fire Risk Assessment and Safety Planning: Identifying fire hazards related to structural components, Risk assessment methodologies specific to structural integrity, Evaluating load-bearing elements under fire exposure, Scenario analysis and fire severity estimation, Fire-resistance performance goals and safety margins, Structural safety integration with emergency response plans.
