Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent.
Objective: The Certified Maritime Safety Officer course is designed to provide specialized training in managing and enforcing safety standards in the maritime industry, including onboard vessels, ports, and offshore platforms. The course covers international maritime safety conventions and codes such as SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, and STCW; vessel safety inspections; navigational safety; fire and life-saving equipment protocols; accident and incident investigation; and occupational health and safety in maritime environments.
Duration: Three Month.
How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:
Step 1: Choose the course you wish to get certified in.
Step 2: Click on the “Enroll Now” button.
Step 3: Proceed with the enrollment process.
Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.
Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:
Debit/Credit Card, Wallet, Paytm, Net Banking, UPI, or Google Pay.
Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.
Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.
Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.
Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

Duration- 60 minutes.
No. of Questions- 30. (Multiple Choice Questions).
Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.
There is no negative marking in this module.

Module 1: Introduction to Maritime Safety: Overview of maritime industry and safety importance, Roles and responsibilities of a maritime safety officer, International maritime safety regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code), Maritime safety culture and risk management, Classification societies and maritime authorities, Basic ship types and operations.
Module 2: Shipboard Safety Management Systems: Development and implementation of Safety Management Systems (SMS), Compliance with ISM Code requirements, Safety documentation and record keeping, Safety drills and exercises onboard, Crew training and competency assurance, Auditing and continuous improvement of SMS.
Module 3: Navigation and Operational Safety: Principles of safe navigation, Collision regulations (COLREGs), Bridge resource management, Watchkeeping standards and fatigue management, Use of navigational aids and technology, Emergency procedures for navigational hazards.
Module 4: Cargo Handling and Hazardous Materials Safety: Safe loading, stowage, and unloading of cargo, Handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods, Compliance with IMDG Code, Cargo securing and stability management, Spill prevention and emergency response, Documentation and communication protocols.
Module 5: Occupational Health and Safety on Ships: Workplace hazards onboard (fire, slips, confined spaces), Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), Health monitoring and first aid procedures, Fire prevention and firefighting techniques, Managing fatigue and stress in maritime operations, Incident reporting and investigation.
Module 6: Emergency Preparedness and Response: Shipboard emergency plans and drills, Search and rescue operations, Lifesaving appliances and survival techniques, Coordination with coastal and maritime authorities, Crisis communication and incident command, Post-incident review and lessons learned.
