Objective: The Certified First Aid & CPR Provider course is designed to train individuals in delivering immediate and effective first response care during medical emergencies before professional help arrives. The course focuses on equipping participants with practical skills in assessing emergency situations, performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), managing choking, bleeding, burns, fractures, shock, and handling sudden illnesses such as heart attacks, strokes, and seizures.

Module 1: Introduction to First Aid and Emergency Response: Definition and importance of first aid and CPR, Roles and responsibilities of a certified provider, Legal and ethical considerations (duty to act, consent), Emergency scene assessment and personal safety, Chain of survival and emergency medical services (EMS), Basic equipment and first aid kit preparation.
Module 2: Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR Techniques: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants, Identifying unresponsiveness and checking for breathing, Chest compressions, rescue breaths and hand placement, Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Two-rescuer CPR and special considerations, Recovery position and post-CPR care.
Module 3: Airway and Breathing Emergencies: Recognizing airway obstruction and choking signs, Performing Heimlich maneuver (abdominal thrusts), Rescue breathing techniques and mouth-to-mouth, Managing asthma attacks and breathing difficulties, Use of barrier devices and face shields, Care for drowning and smoke inhalation victims.
Module 4: Bleeding, Shock and Wound Management: Types of bleeding and control methods (pressure, elevation), Bandaging and dressing wounds properly, Treating nosebleeds, cuts, and abrasions, Recognizing and managing signs of shock, Caring for internal bleeding and impaled objects, Preventing infection and safe disposal of materials.
Module 5: Injuries, Fractures and Environmental Emergencies: First aid for sprains, fractures, dislocations, and spinal injuries, Splinting techniques and limb immobilization, Burns: thermal, electrical, chemical β classification and treatment, First aid for heatstroke, hypothermia, and frostbite, Snake bites, insect stings, and allergic reactions, Seizures, fainting, and diabetic emergencies.
Module 6: Special Situations and First Aid Preparedness: First aid for poisoning, overdose, and substance abuse, Emergency care for stroke and heart attack symptoms, First aid for eye, ear, and dental injuries, Evacuation procedures and disaster preparedness, Documentation and handover to EMS professionals, Practicing simulated emergency scenarios and final assessment.
