Course Id: CFST/Q0001.
Eligibility: 10+2 or Equivalent.
Objective: The Certified Fire Suppression Technician course is designed to provide in-depth training on various fire suppression systems used in industrial, commercial, and special hazard environments. The course covers types of systems including water-based (sprinklers), gas-based (CO₂, FM-200, NOVEC 1230), foam, dry chemical, and kitchen hood suppression systems.
Duration: Three Month.
How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:
Step 1: Choose the course you wish to get certified in.
Step 2: Click on the “Enroll Now” button.
Step 3: Proceed with the enrollment process.
Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.
Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:
Debit/Credit Card, Wallet, Paytm, Net Banking, UPI, or Google Pay.
Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.
Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.
Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.
Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.

Module 1: Introduction to Fire Suppression Systems and Fire Behavior: Fundamentals of fire science and fire growth dynamics, Role of fire suppression systems in fire control and prevention, Types of fires and appropriate suppression methods (Class A, B, C, D, K), Overview of fire suppression technologies (manual, automatic, gaseous, foam, and water-based), Roles and responsibilities of a Fire Suppression Technician, Overview of national and international codes (NFPA, IS, ISO).
Module 2: Types of Fire Suppression Systems and Applications: Water-based systems: wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, and deluge, Gaseous systems: CO₂, FM-200, Novec 1230, Inergen, Dry chemical and clean agent suppression systems, Foam-based systems and applications for flammable liquids, Kitchen fire suppression systems and special hazards systems, System selection criteria based on occupancy and fire risk.
Module 3: System Installation, Configuration, and Components: Installation requirements for suppression system piping and nozzles, Components of suppression systems (valves, pumps, cylinders, control panels), Commissioning procedures and pressure testing, Integration with fire detection and alarm systems, Electrical and hydraulic considerations in system setup, Manufacturer guidelines and layout design principles.
Module 4: Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance Procedures: Routine inspection schedules and documentation practices, Testing procedures: water flow test, discharge test, integrity test, Verifying cylinder pressure, piping, nozzles, and alarms, Preventive and corrective maintenance requirements, Service tagging, maintenance logs, and checklists, Troubleshooting common faults and system malfunctions.
Module 5: Safety Procedures and Emergency Handling: Technician safety while working with pressurized systems and agents, Emergency shutdown protocols and isolation procedures, Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during service work, Handling and storage of suppression agents safely, Response to accidental discharge or leakage, Fire extinguisher use and first response readiness.
