Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent.
Objective: The Certified Oil & Gas Safety Officer course is designed to provide specialized training in safety management practices tailored to the unique hazards of upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas operations. The course covers key areas such as hazard identification and risk assessment, fire and explosion prevention, confined space entry, working at heights, permit-to-work systems, emergency response planning, and control of hazardous energy (LOTO).
Duration: Three Month.
How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:
Step 1: Choose the course you wish to get certified in.
Step 2: Click on the “Enroll Now” button.
Step 3: Proceed with the enrollment process.
Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.
Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:
Debit/Credit Card, Wallet, Paytm, Net Banking, UPI, or Google Pay.
Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.
Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.
Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.
Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

Duration- 60 minutes.
No. of Questions- 30. (Multiple Choice Questions).
Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.
There is no negative marking in this module.

Module 1: Introduction to Oil & Gas Industry and Safety Principles: Overview of upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, Common hazards in oil & gas industry, Fundamentals of industrial safety and accident causation, Roles and responsibilities of a safety officer, Legal and ethical obligations in safety management, Importance of safety culture and behavior-based safety.
Module 2: Occupational Health and Safety in Oil & Gas Sector: Occupational health risks (chemical, physical, ergonomic), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) selection and use, Industrial hygiene and workplace monitoring, Confined space entry and respiratory protection, Noise, heat, and vibration control measures, Health surveillance and first aid practices.
Module 3: Fire and Explosion Safety Management: Fire triangle and classifications of fire, Flammable and explosive substances in oil & gas, Fire detection, suppression, and alarm systems, Firefighting techniques and use of extinguishers, Explosion prevention and control strategies, Emergency response planning and drills.
Module 4: Process Safety and Risk Management: Process safety vs. personal safety, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Permit to Work (PTW), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH), Case studies on process safety incidents.
Module 5: Environmental Safety and Sustainability: Environmental legislation and compliance in oil & gas, Waste management and pollution control, Spill prevention and response techniques, Air and water quality monitoring, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Sustainable practices in oil & gas operations.
Module 6: Safety Systems, Auditing, and Incident Investigation: Development of Safety Management Systems (SMS), Internal safety audits and inspections, Reporting and investigating incidents and near misses, Root cause analysis techniques, Safety performance measurement and KPIs, Continual improvement and corrective action planning.
