Objective: The Certified Laboratory Safety Officer course is designed to provide comprehensive training for professionals responsible for ensuring safe laboratory operations across academic, research, industrial, and clinical settings. The course covers chemical, biological, radiological, and physical hazards; proper storage and labeling of hazardous substances; use of personal protective equipment (PPE); emergency response and spill management; and waste disposal procedures.
Duration: Three Month.

Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:

Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.
Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.
Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
β’ A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
β’ A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.
Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

No. of Questions- 30. (Multiple Choice Questions).
Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.

Module 1: Introduction to Laboratory Safety and Roles: Overview of laboratory hazards and risks, Responsibilities of a laboratory safety officer, Regulatory standards and guidelines (OSHA, EPA, CLIA), Laboratory safety culture and management commitment, Safety signage and labeling requirements, Ethical and legal responsibilities in lab safety.
Module 2: Chemical Safety and Hazard Communication: Chemical hazard identification and classification, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) interpretation and use, Proper chemical storage and segregation, Handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals, Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for chemical safety, Emergency procedures for chemical spills and exposures.
Module 3: Biological Safety and Infection Control: Biological hazards and biosafety levels, Safe handling of biological agents and specimens, Use and maintenance of biological safety cabinets, Decontamination and sterilization techniques, Immunization and health surveillance for lab personnel, Exposure control plans and incident reporting.
Module 4: Physical Safety and Equipment Use: Safe operation of laboratory equipment (centrifuges, autoclaves, glassware), Electrical safety and prevention of shocks, Radiation safety principles and monitoring, Ergonomics and manual handling in the lab, Fire prevention and emergency response, Maintenance and inspection of safety equipment.
Module 5: Waste Management and Environmental Safety: Types of laboratory waste (chemical, biological, sharps), Waste segregation, labeling, and disposal methods, Compliance with environmental regulations, Spill containment and cleanup procedures, Use of containment devices and secondary containment, Environmental monitoring and sustainability practices.
Module 6: Safety Training, Audits, and Incident Management: Developing and delivering laboratory safety training programs, Conducting safety audits and inspections, Documentation and recordkeeping for compliance, Incident investigation and root cause analysis, Emergency preparedness and response drills, Continuous improvement and safety culture enhancement.
